International line-up of 13 series unveiled, spanning 11 countries
From a Berlin Gold Heist and Welsh Crime to São Paulo’s Art Scene, Argentine Midlife and Canadian Friendship: This year’s series selection ranges from world premieres to festival favorites fresh off Series Mania and Locarno, bringing established storytellers together with exciting new voices. Seriesly Berlin Premieres screen across the festival’s main venues, including Fotografiska Berlin and, new this year, CineStar Kino in der KulturBrauerei. The screenings are open to everyone who loves series, offering audiences the opportunity not only to discover new stories on the big screen, but also to meet and engage in conversation with the creators behind them.
Three German series will be shown: The dramedy JOSSI is this year’s opening series from creator Dimitrij Schaad (KLEO, THE KANGAROO CHRONICLES) starring among others Jannik Schümann (SISI), Nilam Farooq (CALL MY AGENT BERLIN) and Thomas Loibl (CONCLAVE). The series tells the story of Jossi, a floundering actor who lies his way into a casting call reserved for Jewish performers. Created by Philipp Kadelbach and Elena Lyubarskaya, Hulu Original series from Germany CITY OF BLOOD is set in a climate-ravaged Berlin on the brink of collapse. When sisters Bea and Phoebe uncover the shocking truth behind the city’s hidden power structures, they find themselves at the center of a life-threatening conflict. The series stars Lena Drinda (SOUND OF FALLING), Franz Hartwig (DARK), LARS EIDINGER (BABYLON BERLIN), David Schütter (BARBARIANS) and others. Streaming exclusively on Disney+. Following HBO Max’s launch in Germany earlier this year, Seriesly Berlin presents CLANGOLD, Jan Zabeil’s visually stunning documentary series about one of the most spectacular robberies in German history: the theft of the ‘Big Maple Leaf’ gold coin from Berlin’s Bode Museum. Sweden’s BURDEN OF JUSTICE, created by Jens Lapidus, the author behind Netflix’s SNABBA CASH, and directed by Lisa Linnertorp, follows lawyers at an elite Stockholm firm navigating an increasingly uncertain moral landscape. One of Finland’s most exciting young voices, AIKUSET creator Anna Brotkin brings ATLANTIS PASILA to Seriesly Berlin following its selection at Series Mania 2026. Set around a small bar amid the brutalist concrete of Helsinki’s Pasila district, the dramedy follows a group of young adults navigating the messy realities of urban life.
Switzerland is represented twice: Wero Rodowicz, creative producer of the Cannesseries-winning THE ZWEIFLERS returns to Seriesly Berlin with the six-part Sky Switzerland documentary BEACH SISTERS following Olympic beach volleyball players and real-life sisters Anouk and Zoé Vergé-Dépré as they compete together for the first time – after years of rivalry. THE ANGEL MAKER Marina Klauser’s Swiss crime drama fresh from its world premiere at Locarno, revisits the religious community of Methernitha and the young women who brought down its founder Paul Baumann.
From the United Kingdom, FILM CLUB is marking British actress Aimee Lou Wood’s (WHITE LOTUS, SEX EDUCATION) debut as both screenwriter and series creator alongside co-creator Ralph Davis (HOUSE OF DRAGON, BIG BOYS), presenting a warm romantic comedy about falling for your best friend. UNDER SALT MARSH, Claire Oakley’s (MAKE UP) atmospheric crime series with Kelly Reilly (YELLOWSTONE, PRIDE & PREJUDICE) and Rafe Spall (TRYING, LIFE OF PI), follows a cold case reopened in a storm-threatened Welsh coastal town. Brazil’s AYÔ written by and starring Lucas Oranmian (7 PRISONERS), features a young Black gay artist navigating love, dating and his career in São Paulo. The coming-of-age drama FILTER by David Semler, tells a story of first love and heartbreak between two teenage boys bringing a distinctly contemporary young perspective to queer life in Czechia. Argentina’s SO FAR SO GOOD from internationally acclaimed, Emmy-nominated filmmaker Daniel Burman (YOSI), is a tragicomic midlife journey starring Benjamín Chilean actor Vicuña (LOCKED UP / VIS A VIS). Canada’s body-positive comedy SHIPWRECKED, created by Gabrielle Lisa Collard and Manal Drissi, reunites three estranged friends confronting old wounds and their complicated relationships with their own bodies.
