They say too many cooks spoil the broth. In European television right now, they're the only reason the broth gets made at all. No single broadcaster can essentially foot the bill for a high-end series anymore, so today's boldest stories are built by more partners, across more territories, than ever before. More voices in the room, more money on the table, and somehow still one story. Using “Under Salt Marsh” (a ZDF/Sky co-production) and “Summer of 1985” (a co-production between SVT and ZDF) as live proof, this panel gets candid about what it actually takes to pull that off: the trust, the trade-offs, and the shared vision that has to survive multiple broadcasters, cultures, and expectations.
