Jorgo is a German-Greek producer. He studied media and cultural studies at Bauhaus-University Weimar and worked at German theaters Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg and Schauspiel Köln before studying film production at Goldsmiths, University of London.
In 2016, Jorgo started working for the production company Iconoclast in London, where he produced, among others, the award-winning short film “REBIRTH IS NECESSARY” by Jenn Nkiru. This film was exhibited at Tate Modern and won the Prix Canal+ Award at Clermont-Ferrand.
Jorgo joined Berlin-based X Filme in 2018. Most recently, he produced the anthology series “ZEIT VERBRECHEN,” based on the famous podcast by DIE ZEIT, directed by Jan Bonny, Helene Hegemann, Mariko Minoguchi, and Faraz Shariat. The series premiered at the 2024 Berlinale. Together with fellow producer Rosh Khodabakhsh, Jorgo initiated NewMotion, a program aimed at diversifying the German film and TV industry by offering job shadowing and mentoring opportunities for people from underrepresented groups.
